Finding the light in the darkness feels daunting at times, especially in this stressful season of Covid-19. BUT it is possible to find IF you open you heart and look for it. Light ALWAYS overcomes the darkness. My children are quick to tell you that Jesus is the light and the Devil and his darkness doesn’t stand a chance. The Bible says in John 1:4-5, “In Him (Jesus) was life, and that light was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” Praise the Lord! God is good, ALL the time.

Due to the social distancing, government stay at home mandates and bunkering down here in North Carolina, our once full calendar has been wiped clean. The running to gymnastics, softball and baseball several times a week has come to a stand still. The community of friends and family that we are used to being around is nonexistent (with the exception of Facetime and Zoom). They’ve been processing their emotions and each day it changes. I can totally relate. All of us (myself included), needed a way to express ourselves. Sometimes, words only go so far.

So, I let them choose what they missed the most during this time of staying at home (Covid-19 season) and photographed it in the light. Nothing like a little photography therapy, for them and for me. (Of course the babies aren’t missing anything (except our extended family members) but they had to be documented too.) Here’s my crew: Sophia, Stella, Hudson, Lincoln & Lorelei.
