Whew! Fall is winding down and with it, wedding season. 2021 was a whirlwind as a North Carolina wedding photographer in the best ways possible. I am tickled to death to introduce y’all to one of my fabulous wedding couples from 2021, Cornichia and Jacquain. This sweet couple calls Durham, North Carolina home and I was so flattered that they drove here to Elizabeth City for their engagement session. Spoiler alert! They were ALREADY married. This couple is one of many that had their plans all mixed up due to the Covid 19 pandemic. However, love is bigger than anything in its way and Cornichia and Jacquain were able to celebrate their marriage in style despite all the setbacks and rearrangements! 

Engagement sessions are important because they let me get to know the couple and the couple gets to know me. It is not required to have had a session with me before I shoot your wedding but it sure helps! You get used to how I work, how I ask you to pose, and how it feels to be in front of the camera. Cornichia and Jacquain met me in downtown Elizabeth City in January for these pre-wedding portraits. This was scheduled around all the changes due to the pandemic and we just had to work with my schedule and theirs! Typically, I don’t usually have many sessions during Jan and Feb due to it being cold. However, it was an uncharacteristically mild day and we took full advantage of the sunshine God blessed us with, spending lots of time together enjoying the moment and getting so many great images of them. 

Here’s a side note about my schedule as a North Carolina wedding photographer. January and February are normally pretty cold, windy, and miserable. I don’t typically have many sessions in the heart of winter. I had to fit this session in and was so grateful for the nice day because at this point in 2021 I was already fully booked. In fact, if you are considering booking me, my dates for 2022 will be available starting in late December and early January. Family comes first for this family business and I set my availability around my husband’s crazy work schedule that is set annually. Keep your eyes open for my announcement of when my dates are open and ready for you to grab! 

Now back to the fun! Cornichia and Jacquain are such a dynamic couple. They have the kind of chemistry that everyone notices. And I LOVED how their outfits truly reflected their personalities. They are so classy and compliment each other in a way that words just can’t describe. And since words don’t do them justice, enjoy the rest of their engagement photos here!
