Guy senior sessions are often over looked by many. But the results can be amazing if you can get the guys on board with it. So, how do you do this? I have been an Elizabeth City senior photographer for years and I have found that the best way is to incorporate their loves (ex: sports, cars, hobbies, favorite places, etc.). If you can do this, you’ll get the best pictures!
Logan’s senior session started off at the baseball field. Even though it wasn’t baseball season, he was able to get his baseball uniform and was able to use the field for pictures. He also brought his catchers gear, balls, gloves and bats. Having all this with him, helped to give a ton of variety and lots of options in the pictures.
My favorite series from this session is the catching part shown below. He’s truly fierce and at home behind the plate and it absolutely showed.
I always tell Mama’s to be prepared to jump in for a few pictures sometime during the session. Mom’s often tell me that these pictures are so special to them because they don’t have very many with their boys. For this reason, I make it a point to get Mom in the picture.
We were able to shoot a second location for Logan’s session since the locations were in close proximity to each other. Palin’s Alley in downtown Elizabeth City offers a cool urban vibe with the lights and colorful murals. Also, a block away is one of my favorite waterfront spots.
If you have a senior about to graduate this year and still need photos, it is not too late! We can schedule their portrait session as soon as possible. If you have a senior graduating in 2023, it is not too early to schedule their portrait session. I would love to create a session that captures your senior exactly as they are in this special year before you launch them into the world.
