Y’all, I was not designed for this winter weather. We got an unexpected southern snow day and I was bundled up dreaming of sunny days at the beach. Our family has a little getaway at Kitty Hawk in the Outer Banks and as soon as summer arrives it is a safe bet that you will find me there with my whole crew. Spending most of the summer here makes my life so much simpler as an Outer Banks photographer.

Last summer, the Harrington family met me at my favorite location to take photos as an Outer Banks photographer. This quiet little spot in Kitty Hawk happens to be right across the street from our family’s beach camper. I left my crazies at the camper with my mom and snuck out to spend an hour doing what I love with one of my favorite families ever!

Let me tell you why the Harrington family is so dear to me! Millicent is such a lovely example of a mama who loves God and serves her family. Daniel is a hardworking and caring father. They are raising two strong and Godly young men! The Harrington family is so filled with joy and it shows in every photo! Our families are part of the same church, Fountain of Life. It is always such a blessing to be able to use my art as an Outer Banks photographer to capture the sweetness of a family I know and cherish!

We met during the golden hour before the sun set and everyone was ready for their family portraits. Just look at their perfectly coordinated outfits. I adore Millicent’s dress! She really is beautiful inside and out. Her hair was styled by Katie Audette and her makeup was by my friend and favorite makeup artist, Crystal Colson at Merle Norman of Elizabeth City. Who doesn’t love a southern boy in khakis and a button down? The Harrington boys, Bryce and Cole, looked absolutely dapper and were perfect gentlemen during our time on the beach. These brother are always so polite and kind. You can tell that their parents pour so much love into their sons.

Daniel was such a good sport during our session when I asked him to splash in the waves with Bryce and Cole. Before things got too messy we got some fun family shots right where the waves meet the sand. Millicent stepped out of the way and let the boys be boys and the result is some great shots of them soaking wet with the most genuine smiles on their faces. Thank you to Millicent and Daniel for trusting me as your Outer Banks photographer and going along with my ideas! I hope you cherish your beach family portraits.

Just looking through this gallery again has me feeling a little warmer even though the weather has been beyond freezing here in northeastern North Carolina! My summer schedule is open but fills up quickly. Contact me right away and let’s secure a spot for a family beach session for summer of 2021! I will meet you by the dunes before sunset!
