Happy Fall, y’all! It may not feel like fall yet but surely those cooler days are just around the corner. I’m really looking forward to fall wedding days and family sessions with the backdrop of the changing leaves and a golden setting sun. In the meantime, I wanted to pop on here to share the Hertford, NC engagement session of Meghan and Zach, a couple that is getting married this December. They’re having a Pirate’s Cove Marina wedding in Manteo and I can’t wait!

Meghan and Zach wanted a different style for their engagement photos than the wedding. We didn’t meet at the Outer Banks. We met at Newbold-White House in Hertford, NC. This is one of my favorite photo spots. You can literally shoot here anytime of year and it is gorgeous no matter what. This session took place in the spring when everything was just beginning to bloom.

The Newbold-White House is ideal for Hertford, NC engagement sessions because there is a ton of variety for your photos. We started the session out front by a big ole tree that filters the sunshine just right! I love the photos of this sweet couple in the vineyard just walking hand in hand, smiling, and smooching! Meghan’s ring had to be the star in some of the photos. It is so GORGEOUS! I have never seen an engagement ring quite like it. Come December, that ring will be in some detail shots of their wedding day and I can’t wait.

After photos in the vineyard, Meghan and Zach wandered down the long path that leads to the river. I love the dock there. It’s a great place to snuggle up for some photos sitting down before exploring the river bank. Meghan was really specific about the look she wanted for her photos. Before her session she shared her ideas for poses with me so we had a good plan ahead of time to get it just right. I always have a plan with every single session I book and then I just roll with the energy and dynamic of the couple. It was helpful to know what kind of feel Meghan was going for. If you have a session booked with me, please don’t be shy if you have ideas or inspiration. Let’s chat and go into our time together with a plan! Looking for ideas for your next session can be as easy as scrolling through Pinterest. While you are already here, check out more of my blog posts to get an idea of my style and see what you love!

The countdown is on for Meghan and Zach’s big day! I have no doubt they have planned a dreamy day down to the last detail and I can’t wait to be there to capture it all. I am booking for 2022 now if you are looking for a North Carolina wedding photographer for your big day. Reach out to me here and we can start working out all the details right away!
