The wedding day of David and Rhonda is what dreams are made of. It was the wedding of the year. There was no detail overlooked and absolute beauty and love abounded in every direction you looked. Downtown Edenton, NC is home to them, so it was only fitting that their storybook wedding took place just blocks away surrounded by their closest family and friends.

Their wedding day featured two wedding dresses, two tents, wonderful food, crazy dancing, the best wedding party and the sweetest Bride and Groom. It was a day like no other and I was so honored to be their Edenton wedding photographer. Having captured so many special days in Edenton, it was incredible to experience this wedding!

The Historic Edenton Courthouse overlooks the Courthouse Greens and the Edenton Bay which offers the perfect location for an Edenton, NC wedding. The open upstairs of the courthouse was the perfect location for the Bride and Bridal party to get ready at. It also gave them the perfect glimpse of the happenings and set up going on down below.

First Looks with a Bride’s Dad are always the sweetest. It was important to Rhonda that her family was included in every aspect of her wedding day. She even had a First Look with the Groomsmen and Groomswoman. This was a first for me and it was such a sweet idea. Their reaction towards seeing her was what every girl deserves on her wedding day! Complete adoration!

Tara from Simply Southern Weddings and Events was the boss lady of the entire day. She worked with Rhonda and planned every aspect of the wedding and then was there on the day of to ensure the day was a success. In fact, in the weeks leading up to the wedding, Tara and I were touching base every couple of days. She was on top of everything. The picture below shows her in action explaining to the Groomsmen exactly what they needed to do before, during and after the wedding ceremony. With the help of her sweet team, they helped vendors, answered questions, kept the Bride and Groom informed on what was next and made sure that they were given the absolute best experience possible. If you are looking for a wedding planner and/or day of coordinator, Tara and her team are it. I can’t recommend them enough. It was through working with her and seeing her process that I now see how incredibly important their job is to making the wedding day run smoothly. When my girls grow up and get married, I will hire a wedding planner and day of coordinator. Not even kidding.

Just a couple hundred feet away from the Courthouse Greens in Edenton, NC is a private secret garden. This location was perfect for David and Rhonda’s alone portraits. The light was filtered beautifully by the overhanging of trees and the seclusion of the spot allowed the two a moment to soak in the fact that they had just got married.

Before being announced into their wedding, they sat alone and ate their first meal as husband and wife. The delicious food was provided by Lone Cedar Cafe. While Rhonda went upstairs to surprise her husband with a dress change, Tara went to work making sure the food was hot and waiting downstairs for them. When Rhonda walked down the stairs in her new gown, David’s mouth dropped wide open admiring the reception wedding dress. Their wedding guests were being served their food while they were off in the secret garden having their alone portraits taken. This was a great use of time and wonderful idea executed by Tara and her team.

After the cake cut, entrances and first dance, we snuck away in the golf cart for a quick 5 minutes to showcase the new dress in the gorgeous golden rays. One block down from the Courthouse Greens in Edenton, NC and over by the Penelope Barker House is the beautiful boat docks, park and 1886 Roanoke River Lighthouse.

Hiring a professional videographer was something that was truly important to David and Rhonda. Videography was provided by their friend, Mike of Eye Candy Digital Video. Mike and his team are true professionals and easy to work with during the wedding day. Mike’s finished wedding video can be seen by clicking here. How amazing is it to be able to relive the moments in picture form and video form? Every single time I watch the finished product that the videographers I work with, it’s like being transported right back into that day! What a sweet blessing for Bride and Grooms to experience over again!

The Clam Slammers Band did a fabulous job of getting the guests on the dance floor. Once the dance floor was open, it was never not occupied, which is the true testament of what a wonderful job they did at performing. Edenton Weddings are always full of dancing, shagging and soul train lines.

Rhonda and David, thank you both for allowing me to be your wedding photographer! It was a true honor and blessing to be there with you both and photograph the joy and love of your day!

Special thanks to all the vendors who made their day a total success!
