Every wedding takes on its own personality. Most of this comes from the bride and groom. I see their personalities separately and as a couple reflected throughout the special day that they planned so carefully. Last fall I drove way out in Gates County for a wedding that was laid back, thoughtful, and fun, just like the bride and groom. I hope you enjoy this look at the Jordan wedding!
Personal touches in your wedding wardrobe are so special. Kaiti wore a classic lace bridal gown paired with custom hand painted Vans! In fact, her bridesmaids wore Vans with their dresses as well. You be you at your wedding. You don’t have to try and be Cinderella in glass slippers that hurt your feet. Wear what makes you feel beautiful and comfortable. I love that the bridesmaids wore different shades of purple for their dresses. Kenny’s bow tie was made of feathers and so unique. There were touches of purple throughout the entire day that tied the look together. Even their dog wore a purple bow tie.
There were a couple special moments that stand out in my memory in addition to the ceremony. First, Kaiti’s Dad seeing her in her wedding dress for the first time was very emotional. His love and his pride in his daughter was beautiful. Second, not long after the wedding, Kaiti and Kenny had an emotional and beautiful moment giving tribute to one of their beloved dogs, Marley. Kenny’s brother surprised them with a picture of their dog. You will see a few pictures of the brother standing behind both the Bride and the Groom, both unaware that he was holding this picture. A few tears were shed and the couple was so overwhelmed with this personal gift.
I always want my second shooter to focus on the groom at the beginning of the ceremony because sometimes the groom’s reaction to the bride is just priceless. Kenny was in awe when he saw his bride when she walked down the aisle. After the ceremony and formal portraits, I snuck away with the newlyweds for their photos alone. They just focused on each other and let me capture it with my camera. Kaiti had a stunning veil to match her gown and y’all should know I love to wrap up a bride and groom in her veil for some photos!
The reception was all about letting loose and celebrating. There was lots of southern food and plenty to drink. They had one of the prettiest dessert tables I have ever seen. The big dance floor was full of dancing and all types of silliness. At one point someone’s pink shoe flew through the air! See if you can find that photobomb in the images below! There were so many heartfelt moments from the special dances to the toasts. When it got chilly as the sun went down, Kaiti put on her jean jacket. I love how she looked in her lace gown with her jacket on. There is nothing more stunning than a bride just being herself!
The Jordan wedding ending with a unique tradition I had not witnessed before. There was a branding ceremony. The Bride and Groom, along with both sets of parents branded a piece of wood with the couples initials. When it was time for the party to end, everyone sent Kaiti and Kenny off with sparkles shining in the night! Thank you to the Jordans for letting me be a part of your wedding. I smiled all day taking your photos and I hope these photos always make you smile as well!
